Email Marketing Tip: Building Relationships With Your Subscribers by Mike Schwenk, Associate Marketing Manager.Posted on July 19th, 2012
A lot of people looking to build a list and make money through e-mail marketing seem to make the same mistake over and over again…
Failing to build relationships.
Although some marketers may have success with hammering their list with offers, many also have to constantly struggle to attract new subscribers…to keep up with all the unsubscribes.
The safest, long-term approach is to actually get to know your subscribers and build your own “tribe” of loyal fans/customers.
Here are two ways you can do so…
#1 – Go Social
Invite your subscribers to become friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, etc.
This allows you to actually get to know your subscribers (and vice versa), and build rapport along the way.
#2 – Build Value
Regularly surprise your visitors with free downloads and giveaways, but only if the content is relevant and of great quality.
If you don’t have anything to giveaway, give them a list of valuable tools and resources you use yourself.
In the first week, it’s important to keep these kind of ideas in mind.
Try to connect with your subscribers and let them get to know you, then you can offer suggestions on what to buy.
